Embracing Imperfections Counseling
Overcome Your Fears and Embrace a Fulfilling Life🌿

About Embracing Imperfections Counseling
At Embracing Imperfections Counseling, we believe that you don’t have to be perfect to live a meaningful, fulfilling, and authentic life. Therapy is a space to embrace who you are, work through the barriers holding you back, and build the confidence to move forward.
Hello! I’m Nicolette, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. I have been a therapist since 2020 and have been working in the mental health field since 2018. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and outpatient therapy.
While I have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns, I specialize in working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety. In 2023, I developed a particular passion for working one-on-one with individuals experiencing OCD. I truly enjoy helping people face their fears, challenge the mental barriers that keep them stuck, and create a life that feels more freeing and fulfilling.
My approach to therapy is warm, energetic, encouraging, and person-centered. I believe therapy should be a collaborative experience where you feel supported while also being challenged to grow. My upbeat personality naturally comes through in my work, and I use positivity and motivation to help clients build confidence, work toward their goals, and take meaningful steps forward.
At Embracing Imperfections Counseling, there is no expectation that you have everything figured out. We are here to help you navigate the messy, imperfect, and sometimes uncomfortable parts of life while developing the tools and confidence to move toward the life you want.
Our Services
Mental Health Counseling
Embracing Imperfections Counseling provides individualized mental health therapy designed to help you better understand yourself, overcome challenges, and work toward meaningful change.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD can be overwhelming and can make everyday life feel controlled by intrusive thoughts, fears, and compulsive behaviors. We specialize in helping individuals with OCD break free from the cycle of fear and compulsions.
Treatment for OCD incorporates evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). Together, we work to build confidence in facing uncertainty, reduce avoidance and compulsive behaviors, and help you move toward a life that is not dictated by OCD.
Anxiety
Anxiety can affect how you think, feel, and interact with the world around you. Therapy can help you understand your anxiety, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build the confidence to face situations that may feel uncomfortable or frightening.
Self-Esteem
The way you view yourself can have a significant impact on your relationships, choices, and overall quality of life. Therapy can help you challenge negative self-beliefs, develop greater self-compassion, recognize your strengths, and build a healthier and more confident sense of self.
Interpersonal Relationships
Our relationships can be both rewarding and challenging. Therapy can help you better understand relationship patterns, strengthen communication skills, establish healthy boundaries, and navigate interpersonal challenges with greater confidence and self-awareness.
Our Therapeutic Approach🌿
Treatment is tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and experiences. In addition to ERP and I-CBT for OCD, I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Motivational Interviewing
Solution-Focused Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy
My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Therapy isn’t about becoming a perfect version of yourself—it’s about becoming more comfortable embracing yourself while building the skills to live the life you want.
You don’t have to let fear, anxiety, or self-doubt define your life. Let’s work together to help you move beyond what is holding you back and toward a life that feels more freeing and fulfilling.
